Online Courses

This class introduces the student to the MercuryGate TMS and day-in, day-out logistics workflow. The course is available in two editions: the legacy “ezClick” interface, featuring windows called “portlets” and blue-button workflow, and in the new “ezVision” interface of the TMS introduced in 2017.
The course consists of video modules alternating with hands-on lab exercises that are performed by students on a demonstration TMS server.
Upon registration, users will be sent a login link to the learning management system (Litmos) which will allow them each to create a password for the site. They also will receive an email to their demonstration TMS server for performing the hands-on lab exercises.
Users who successfully complete the course may download a certificate at the end of the course.
  1. First Look at the TMS
  2. Creating Routes/Loads
  3. Rating
  4. Finding Other Carrier Capacity
  5. Tendering & Booking
  6. Tracking & Delivery
  7. Carrier Invoicing
  8. Customer Invoicing
  9. Common Exceptions
The newer “ezVision” edition of the course also includes a module on “multi-everything” relationships between routes, shipping orders and execution loads, and use of the “Load Builder” interface for shipping order and execution load consolidation.
This “self-training” course shows how transportation brokers and third-party logistics providers use the MercuryGate TMS to move their customers’ loads from creation through delivery and settlement.
The course uses recorded demonstration modules, “now you try it” exercises, interactive reviews and quizzes to give users all the knowledge they need to operate a typical installation of the TMS.
The course takes load records through creation to carrier rating or quoting, tender, booking, labeling, tracking and delivery. Post-delivery, the TMS gives clients a powerful invoicing and freight audit workflow. The course also covers several “day in the life” issues such as how to cope with missed and rescheduled events.
Upon registration in the course, users will be sent a login link to the learning management system (Litmos). Users who successfully complete the course can download a certificate at the end of the course.

The course is presented in several stand-alone online modules. Students taking the course for certification must take quizzes after some modules and must complete a hands-on lab to create a working contract in the TMS.

This course provides the knowledge that client administrators need to oversee the TMS on a daily basis, including management of hierarchy and enterprises, users and roles, master lists of locations and freight records, carrier and contracts, and references and sequences. The course also provides an introduction to more advanced configuration topics – system settings, code tables, portlets, config groups and dynamic rulesets.

Course Modules

  2. Hierarchy and Enterprises
  3. Users and Roles
  4. Locations
  5. Items and Ship Units

Students who complete the coursework and pass a final examination will be certified for access to dynamic ruleset creation and testing on their subscription QA server instance. Client-created, client-tested dynamic rulesets then can be promoted to the client’s production server via an Ace task.

This is an advanced class that assumes knowledge of TMS operation and workflow principles. Participants in the class will study dynamic ruleset workflow design, best practices and troubleshooting skills. Clients who seek to design their own dynamic rulesets are assuming the associated risk.

Conditions for the class:

Client enrollment requires the approval of MercuryGate’s CEO.
Enrollment and certification also require client access to a subscription QA server.
Certification is issued only to individual user IDs for specific servers, not to generic user accounts such as ‘admin’. Certification is not transferable.
Course Modules

Students alternate between demonstration modules containing “now you try it” interactive exercises in the Litmos system, and hands-on lab work performed on a “learning” TMS server.
