In 2016, Hibbett set a goal of 5% savings for inbound freight costs. Their Inbound Logistics Manager, Carol Black laid out a plan for how they could achieve that goal by leveraging their MercuryGate TMS. She made a few tweaks to the process, and put a private bid board in place that allowed them to evaluate their carriers. Their team was able to see which carriers were going to be high or low. Through that process, they narrowed their list to a core set of carriers that offered the most value. While Hibbett is continually looking for new ways to make the TMS work for their business goals, the company estimates it has already realized over $1 million in savings.
